Want to get started with the art of bonsai, but not sure where or how to begin?

Our beginner's course is the perfect way to jump start your bonsai journey.

Our courses are run by our more experienced members, with support of others all within the Christchurch Bonsai Society.

These short-course classes are limited to 10 participants and early registration is essential.

There are a number of classes held over the year and these range from 1-2 sessions. They included:

• demonstrations and hands-on workshops

• a tree for you to work on and progress in the years to come

• notes on care of the tree

• soil, wire, and other materials provided to aid in your work

  There are three beginner courses in 2026; April, May and June at our usual meeting site at Colesbury Street in Bishopdale.
